Distance Learning

Distance learning refers to online, correspondence, and interactive video courses. Distance Learning provides opportunities for students who for one reason or another are unable to attend courses in a face-to-face classroom. Distance learning makes access to higher education possible for many high school or college students who might not otherwise be able to enroll in these courses. Follow the links below to learn about the types of distance education opportunities that are available in Illinois.

Illinois Virtual Campus: http://www.ivc.illinois.edu/
The IVC is a directory of online courses, certificates, and degree programs offered by colleges and universities in Illinois. The directory also includes courses offered by interactive video, which brings students and faculty together from two or more sites. Those students are able to see and hear each other, thus creating an interactive learning environment at a distance through the interactive television network.
