What is the Multi-University Center? The Multi-University Center is a consortium that brings together the rich resources and faculty strengths of Northern Illinois University and the three campuses of the University of Illinois to serve the citizens and corporations of the Chicago suburbs. The universities offer graduate degrees and professional development opportunities through a spectrum of upper division courses and workshops in engineering, computer science, technology, food science and human nutrition, industrial management, geoscience, education, rehabilitation counseling and kinesiology. When will courses be offered? Courses are offered at convenient times throughout the week including evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the working professionals who wish to pursue a degree or update job related skills. How will courses and programs be offered? In addition to the traditional educational formats (face-to-face) the Multi-University Center offers state-of-the-art instructional technology. Facilities include two networked computer labs with full Internet access and interactive video- and audio-conferencing facilities. Access to other academic institutions/schools Through the West Suburban Post-Secondary Consortium's interactive video classes, professionals also have access to courses offered from three community colleges, twelve private colleges, universities and institutes, and four public universities serving the western suburbs. LINK-UP to learning This computerized and Internet-based service provides information on twenty educational institutions providing programming and public service activities in Chicago's western suburbs.
